POSITION TITLE: Senior Planner/Resource Manager HOURS OF WORK : 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday REPORTS TO: Office Manager FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Office Manager, Office Administrator, Planning Staff DELEGATED AUTHORITY: Nil PURPOSE OF POSITION: Carry out resource management, town planning, land-use planning, subdivision, land development and strategic planning practices to a high level of service. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Planning Consultancy · A high level of knowledge and understanding of resource management, town planning, land-use planning, subdivision, land development and strategic planning. · A high level of knowledge and understanding of district plans throughout New Zealand · Prepare resource consent applications, notice of requirements for designations, and plan changes for New Zealand wide projects. · Prepare submissions to consent applications, notice of requirements for designations, and plan changes. · Historic Places Trust applications · Provide technical and informative advice to clients on resource management, town planning, land-use planning, subdivision, land development and strategic planning · Represent clients and provide expert witness evidence at Notified Consent Hearings and Environment Court proceedings · Undertake and manage consultation process’s with affected persons, interested persons and interest groups throughout New Zealand as required · Undertake and manage consultation process’s with various iwi, runanga and/or hapu groups throughout New Zealand as required Project Management · Write tender and proposal documents for new projects · Contract and performance monitoring · Manage multiple consultants from differing disciplines · Time management practices · Ensure budgets are met Staff Management · Attend weekly team meetings · Provide support and leadership to other staff · Investigate training and professional growth options for staff Client Service · Deliver projects in a professional and timely manner to ensure client service and satisfaction · Liaise and meet with clients on a regular basis to ensure client retention · Establish and maintain effective and co-operative relationships with existing and potential clients · Provide clients with project progress reports · Meet project deadlines · Meet professional fee quotes · Review projects with clients to gain feedback to ensure continual process improvement Business Tasks · Proactive approaches to build and enhance the client base · Research and liaise with potential clients · Research new projects · Attend conference and seminar to help market consultancy · Develop promotional material Other Tasks · Any other task that maybe required to ensure the successful running of a small business. PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL A performance review will be given 3 months after your commencement date, and then annual performance appraisal in June of each year. All performance appraisals will be conducted by the Office Manager. Yearly salary/wage reviews will be conducted in the February of each year.
